Well at last, an AVoYP from me. It’s been a while as I didn’t do any in 2025! So long in fact that I wondered if I could sit down and produce a decent take first time. Well I did it. It’s a “one take Wednesday”, but it’s been so long since I edited a video it’s taken me until today (Thursday) to get the titles added and the beginning and end tidied up and get the thing uploaded! 
This particular song has a riff that’s repeated a load of times and my major concern was getting them right. Well I almost did, as you’ll see/hear!

The Good:
Well played and sung. Nice embellishments. Consistent fast picked runs. Gone are the days of ‘concentration’- You’re relaxed, smiling, even grooving with your body 
The Bad (only niggles):
Crooked capo. the guitar is between your mouth and the phone mic
Buy yourself a cheap selfie stick and raise the phone to above the height of your mouth.
That way you’ll have a better balance and we won’t have the bogey view
The Ugly:
Well, you elicited genuine feelings of envy/jealousy, so I’ll follow the mad one’s lead and simply share a video of how I feel… (before returning to self-imposed exile 
)

You can’t beat the golden oldies David, glad you enjoyed it. Hope to do better this year with AVoYPs although when you look at the ratio of AVoYP posts compared to other posts, it’s very small, so it’s not just me. We need more music on the site.

Like always brother, another enjoyable listen! Nice to hear your still at er and still able to do the one the one take wonder way! Well done!
I also always put my songs up with the one take approach, mistakes and all. Getting through the song without stopping is a big one, along with how it sounds but of course! I think ya did most excellently on both! Couple flubs like ya said, but nothing serious and still just kept the rhythm!

Now that’s a great come back in the AVOYP-section, Gordon! It was well worth the wait, I thoroughly enjoyed it. These runs are really difficult to get right every time and I think you did really good (it’s a one take, so you actually did great for one take!). 
What was also striking was the relaxed vibe you had and did you have some smiling-lessons from @Silvia80 in the meantime? The way the fun and joy shines through in these moments is just awesome and made me smile as well.
Hope we don’t have to wait another year for the next one, though. Thanks for sharing!

Haha yes you’re correct Brian. The song starts with an Am chord and my fingers have pushed the capo squint.
Hight of phone and sound balance are perennial issues due to my simplistic approach to recording. Bogey view!! I’ll have you know I use a nasel hair trimmer.
A punk song with lyrics displaying immature angst, jealousy, social awkwardness. However, Gordon is the “cool “ character in the song. Say no more.
