True thatâs a misconception because they spend a lot of time in their dens playing guitar
I donât want to cause a panic but it is 78 days to Christmas.
78 days left to learn a christmas song
maybe we can have a open mic party on a christmas theme or a thread where people posts their recordings of christmas songs
Wow, Rogier!!!
I didnât even know that Elvis was recording as a Baby!!!
How old was he when he started out???

Itâs okay, in my working life a certain New Yearâs Eve preparation started in JanuaryâŚjust start quietly today, learn 1 half or full bar every day or every weekâŚI have one of those too to start now for next year (I said that last year too)
And to my horror I discovered yesterday that i forgot âWe wish you a merry christmas (easy styly)â which I was supposed to finish last year, let alone the difficult fingerstyle variant of that version. .So
Ooo, donât even start about it, there are currently 16 tabs open on my screen and 4 are Blim relatedâŚalthough I see those things a little differently because âBoom Bass with licksâ may also be included⌠I wonât mention the rest
You havenât learned a nice song in 2 months (most of us)âŚStart now or youâll miss the best of Christmas again this year
Greetings
So Iâm practicing this again now ButâŚ
Brian @brianlarsen
Before you posted it a while ago (other lesson) I had also thought about it sporadically, but because you posted it I can now only think of that kangaroo with that shining thing in his hands/ legs ⌠with you in my head (shoot me ) âŚ
Happy Christmas
Rogier. I donât think I have enough Christmases left to get that jazzy version down! The problem with Christmas songs is you can only play them for a few weeks every year. Not a good practise/performance balance.
Iâll stick to the basic strum-a-dum version with some more basic chords.
Aaa Gordon
I only play Justinâs most âsimpleâ suggestions from that version,
And I understand that for the short period that it is playable, the effort is not really worth it⌠let alone that my wife really doesnât want to hear it anymore after 3 or 4 times and practicing is now allowed even if she is not there
But but but ⌠she makes an exception for the Elvis version (it really doesnât sound like a Christmas song) and she also liked the intro of this jazz version last year and she does not associate it with Christmas without singingâŚ
But Iâm looking forward to
again in 2 months
Greetings
Haha, I remember being slightly surprised that no one âtook the baitâ on that one
Perhaps your resurrecting it, will lead to âoff-colour-etiquetteâ and this untimely thread being closed down till December?
Surely the cavalryâs dum a dum a dum dum
or the little boyâs pa rum pum pum pum?
UhhhâŚI tried to find it (I searched forâŚâam I the only oneâ and âfalus symbolâ and come on Brian grow upâ )but I do remember someone who responded ⌠now let Sssssssst and practice âŚ
O my ⌠I have experienced a huge improvement ⌠last year I struggled to play the intro correctly twice in a row ( or even smooth once without cramping vingers or so)⌠now it was really easy ⌠âŚso so smiling now
Greetings
Was it this one?
I thought you were up to your neck in blues, James!
Why would you go round pokinâ sleepinâ dogs?!?
We canât have Rogier getting too distracted
Holy Moley I have created a monster it could go on till 1st Jan are there any new year songs dare I ask
phallic ⌠that was the word ⌠and Grow up Larsen
I was very close
⌠I am so tempted ⌠⌠but thereâs always a MOD around when youâre on airâŚ
I ordered Justinâs Christmas songbook last week but it wonât be here till the first week of December! In the meantime Iâm practicing Jingle Bells and Silent Night from the App. Oddly, JBs is giving me fits, I just canât keep the chord progression straight!
