I regularly play along to YouTube videos. A couple of days ago the autoplay feature turned itself on, and I can’t turn it off. The little slider that used to be at the bottom of each video that turned the autoplay feature on and off isn’t there anymore, and I can’t find anything in my settings to fix it. It’s annoying as hell.
Has anybody else started having this problem or is it just me? And more importantly, has anybody figured how to turn it off? A Google search just finds posts that tell me about the slider that’s no longer there.
Yeah it’s not auto-start I’m dealing with. It’s auto-play. At the end of each video, another video, chosen by YouTube, starts playing automatically. I used to be able to turn that on or off via a slider next to the volume slider, but now it’s always on and the slider has disappeared.
Personally I most often use one of the sites that let’s you loop / slow down youtube videos when I’m playing along. That resolves the issue and I avoid adverts too.
I’ve just check the app on my phone. If you go to the settings cog wheel and then scroll down to playback it has the option there to switch off auto play.
Just checked my PC at work and about 1/2 the videos don’t have the slider but the ones I checked on my tablet yesterday all had it. So it’s not just you who’s lost his slider seems 1/2 of the ones I check randomly have lost theirs.
Well, the problem went away today. The slider is back on all the videos, where it wasn’t there yesterday.
A couple of days ago I used the “send feedback” link at the bottom of the left hand pull-down menu to report the problem I was having. Maybe they just got to it today.
