Thanks so much Alan and glad you enjoyed it. It probably came across as relaxed as I wasn’t exactly sure what I was doing as this was a first take and I was just going with the flow and how I felt the song. Really appreciate you checking it out!
Still upright and ploughing away. Not so sunny but could be a lot worse. You should be very proud Eddie. Great piece of inspiration to pick up the guitar and record it when you did. Preserved for eternity and thank God for that.
Nice, Eddie!
For a brief moment, I imagined it was raining out, even though it’s been 100+ and sunny practically every day for the past two months here.
Thanks for checking it out Kevin and glad to be able to take your mind off the heat for 3 minutes
Just wow! What a nice tune written in record time! Very well done, Eddie!
It has something that hooked me right from the beginning, cool, relatable lyrics and a nice melody. The chorus goes right to my head and will remain there a little while as an ear worm.
That was an enjoyable listen, Eddie! Thanks a lot for sharing.
Thanks so much Lisa. The chorus was the part that started this song and came into my head as I watched the rain fall. The rest just seemed to fall from the sky with the rain . Thanks for checking it out Lisa and I am glad you enjoyed it.!
Awesome! Especially how your songs just come to you. Pretty nice natural sound while recording sitting out on your porch. I heard no background sounds from my AirPods. Just heard the effects of a beautiful rainy day. Good job, Eddie!
Thank you Pamela. I don’t write many songs but the ones I do seem to just come to me. It probably suits me that way, in that I never really overthink or try to force what I am doing. Sometimes it sounds good and more often than not it doesn’t. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and comment.
Sounded great Eddie. Catchy melody, nice vibe, what’s not to like. And your voice… has acoustic singer songwriter written all over it.
Cheers JK. Always appreciate your comments and support!!!
What a lovely piece of music! If it only takes you ten minutes to write a song like this, what happens, if you took some more time?
I really love rhe vibes of that one. I admire the ability to sit somewhere, having some thoughts and let them fly via music… Terrific!
Rainy days?
It’s been rather wet off the western coats of mainland Europe recently Eddie.
Northern Ireland had an average of 185.4mm of rain in July, above the previous record of 185.2mm set in July 1936.
Good vibes for the inspiration and throwing a song together in short time, it has bags of potential depending on whether you want to continue crafting and finessing it or leaving it as a finished piece, rough edges and all.
Bravo.
Porch poetry.
That was terrific Eddie, simple and to the point. A lyric we can all equate to. The stuck chords seem to be popular in the Community at the moment and it’s amazing what can be done with that type of progression.
I liked the rawness of the song and the fact that you put it together quickly and performed on your porch. Yes, with more work it might gain more musical finesse but the song would loose it’s immediacy and simplicity.
Thanks Richard. Yes my parents have informed me how wet it has been in Ireland this summer . Summers here are pretty hot and rainy days are rare so it’s nice every now and then to see the rain and cool down.
I might just leave the song as it is, as usually when I try to overthink or force something it doesn’t turn out as well.
Thanks again for the listen and comment Richard.
Can you also inform me how to add a tag to something I post? I can’t seem to figure it out or is that function still done by the moderators?
Thank you for the kind words Andrea. To be honest writing something that quick is what works best for me as, when I try to overthink what I am writing it doesn’t seem as natural and doesn’t sound as good. Glad you enjoyed the song and thanks for checking it out
Thanks Gordon and I appreciate you checking this one out. I like to keep things simple and raw as that seems to work best for me. If I tried to tinker with it I am not sure i would be as happy with it . Cheers again Gordon for the listen!!
Bravo, Eddie, throughly enjoyed the song. Laid back groove, catchy, well played and sung.
From a guitar playing perspective, great technique on the stuck chords and the strumming rhythm with the accents.
Yes, tagging is done by the Mods and kept super simple.
Thank you David and I really appreciate your continued support and encouragement!
Eddie, that was an excellent song. Especially considering it coming together so quickly.
Thank you Mark! I really appreciate it!!!
