Really great vocal and tidy strumming Dave. The song is made for your register.

I’ve really enjoyed listening to all the submissions so far this year! Sorry I haven’t commented on everything, but I’ve made time to listen to them and must say I find you all extremely inspiring! :slight_smile:

It’s been a busy month for me, but I did find some time to practice ā€œLast Christmas,ā€ and can manage to play through the whole thing with only a few fumbled chord changes, so I wanted to share my rendition. This is my first AVOYP, and I think I may need to do some adjustments to my setup in future videos. But not bad for my first, and I don’t feel too afraid to share it, so here you go!

Merry Christmas!

Very good first AVOYP. Well performed Erika. You handled the vocal particularly well.

Yeah! That was really enjoyable! Solid strumming, some dynamics in the playing and great vocals! Not bad at all for a first AVOYP indeed!!! :clap: :clap:

Thanks so much @Willsie and @MollyT! It’s still a bit tricky doing both the singing and playing at once, I spend a lot of time thinking about it! :slight_smile:

I’’m a little late to this party, but I just recorded this today to see if I could sing What Child Is This to Justin’s chord melody arrangement 0f Greensleeves:

I got this after 18 takes today :slight_smile: I know that the purpose of chord melody is to include the melody so you don’t have to sing. I just wanted to challenge myself :grinning_face:

@Ontime Thanks very much! I didn’t know I had turned off comments on the video – maybe because it’s unlisted? But I appreciate your comments here. :slight_smile:
@witkatz Thank you, I do enjoy singing, which is partly why I wanted to learn guitar! I’m glad that I come off as relaxed, because I did not feel relaxed when playing, trying to keep track of the rhythm and strumming and chord changes and singing all at once. :joy:
@GrumpyMac Thanks!! I actually transposed it down a little because the recording was a bit high for me to sing comfortably. :blush:
@erionstrings @Boris1565 @beejay56 Thank you!
