This is a lovely rendition! I am impressed at your ability to sing and play the melody at the same time! ![]()
Merry Christmas everyone! Iāve really enjoyed watching and listening to all the Christmas performances
So festive and fun!
I got behind and didnāt catch up with commenting on each individually, sorry! But thank you to everyone
and thanks Deborah @GrumpyMac for coordinating this
have a beautiful Christmas and holiday season ![]()
Steve
Well sung and well played: you did very well with the difficult picking while singing.
Brian
Iāve been practicing this for a while but havenāt got it into muscle memory as much as Iād like. Wasnāt going to post it here as I wanted to improve it before sharing, but heard the news about Chris Rea today so thought Iād post it and maybe it might remind a few to revisit him.
Using my holiday guitar here which is not the greatest.
That was a good listen Steve.
Of course, I always try and leave both and likes on the you tube especially because it really helps with the algorithm. ![]()
Cool song, nice effects also.
John, nice playing, singing and especially the evocative video overlay. I had to look up Chris Rea and I remembered his hit ā(Fool) if You Think Itās Overā. For some reason I donāt remember the song āDriving Home for Christmasā (I donāt think that it charted in the US) but your version made me take a listen. Thanks for the post.
That was a great first AVOYP. The strumming rhythm was consistant and the vocals were very good and enjoyable. Nice work. This makes me want to start using my microphone and DAW some, instead of just the phone.
Well done Steve, that was an interesting version, picking the melody and singing. It worked really well.
Iāve said this before about one of your performances⦠what is going on with that guitar strap? ![]()
Congratulations on your first AVOYP share Erikaā¦it was very enjoyable to listen to, solid Rhythm and so much emotion through the vocals, well done!
Thatās lovely @SteveL_G99! I sing all the time when I learn a chord melody, it somehow helps me, until I understand that if I want to improve my technique Iād better keep my mouth shut!
Youāre doing a great job, your commitment is giving its sweet fruits!
Gordon, thanks for the listen and kind words. My guitar strap is my posture indicator. If I sit up straight with good posture, my strap is tight. If I lean over to read the words with my bad vision, my guitar strap is slack ![]()
Silvia, thanks for the encouraging words. I donāt usually sing when I am learning a chord melody arrangement. My brain just doesnāt have the room or bandwidth for both
I also posted the version without singing in my AVOYP and it was much easier to play: AVOYP Greensleeves / What Child Is This? / Silent Night
