Birth of a Band

Our youngest band member’s choice:
What’s going on?
Same old, same old…
Tor does a quick ‘switcherooney’ on this halfway through and plays the flute :open_mouth:
Niels switches from flute voicing on keyboards to bass to cover the bottom end.
I don’t have any footage of when Tor attempted to play the flute with his left hand whilst continuing to play the 5-string bass with his right-
The hubris of youth
Sigh…

… and another cup of coffee

Guitar histrionics, and nobody threw their guitars up in the air after nailing a solo!!

I enjoyed both, the Dylan number reminded me of Curved Air, or ‘String Driven Thing’,

We were all playing on borrowed instruments  (Except for Ebbe, and his LP is worth a good few grand :grimacing:)

Cheers @AJSki2fly, only vaguely familiar with the former and never heard of the latter.
Any comparison to real musicians is extremely generous :folded_hands:

For today’s offering I give you Quicksand.
And indeed, editing this was like wading through quicksand.
There were technical problems with the recording; Chris had to rerecord his vocals after we had played, and neither Lars’ nor my guitars were picked up. I redid my guitar part this morning, (It sounds the same as on the day, because I only know one way to play it ),
and I rerecorded the backing vocals while I was at it.
Hans compared it to Trigger’s Broom (google it if you’re not familiar )

The penultimate track
Chris’ choice, which my brother Hans was not too enthused about, as it’s not his usual style of drumming. (I ended up shortening the outro by a couple of bars, as he wasn’t happy with it, and I think he was right).
Chris’ and my mics didn’t record, so I hauled his sorry backside over to my place so we could rerecord, the evening before he set off to Italy on his hols.

Edit: Lars asked me for a copy of the uncut version, as I had amputated his solo at the end :grimacing:
I went back and re-edited it, keeping the solo, omitting the drum flourishes at the end

The last of the mixes Copenhagen Syndrome can be found in a separate thread
I have a couple of edits to make, and will add a link to the whole playlist on the top of the thread.

Absolutely not my friend !!

I am a bit late to the party partly due mid June notification tweaks, when the forum went through period of flooding and prepping for the family’s (just one G kid this trip) who arrived at the end of July. Followed by the usual Thelama and Louis activities with my daughter and am AnE trip for the missus on Sunday. Chaos rains as usual.
And as it is super scorchio at the moment, what better than to stay inside in the cool and listen to the other JGC madman !!

Well my friend you eventually went and did and wow what an epic adventure. Must have been great not only to get together with the extended family but to play and perform with each other must have felt truly special. So glad you manage to pull it off.

Halfway, seemed like a good point to stop and say hello and congrats. :waving_hand:

So far I have enjoyed every song and performance, that is one big beauty band (#BBB) and I love the Lego Lads tag. Really good production on all the tracks I’ve listened to and the performances have been pretty tight, impressive as its the first time you have all played together en masse.

Looking forward to the next tracks, once I check on thing here and grab some java. Then I’ll be back for Part 2.

Huge congrats to you big man, an epic achievement !

Laters !

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Jeez that was weird !

The second I hit reply ALL of the videos I’d watched started to play simultaneously !! Thought you guys had some prog rock in the mix until I’d sussed what was going !!

:scream:
