One of my favorites from the 1990s was the fine young cannibals.
And my old friend from high school still pictures me with london beat songs.
Not sure if I could do a cover of these types of songs lol

Ha, ha, reminds me of various parties of my parents in the 70ties. So does Lady Bump - Penny Mc Lean
And now I have that one ringing in my ears⌠Oh no, oh no, oh noâŚ
Ok JeffâŚ
2 more guilty pleasures added to my list⌠and only because it rhymes with Lady Bump, how âbout My Humps - Black Eyed Peas⌠Hate it/Love it/Canât get it outa my head!!!

I never heard of Boney M before - he is quite the entertainer on stage!!! HaHaHa!!!
Tod
Boney M. was a Disco phenomenon. The brain child of German producer Frank Farian, who was much more than a producer only indeed, and repeated a similar stunt later with Milli Vanilli.
The guy in the video is not singing. He is only lip syncing. The voice, you are hearing is Farianâs studio enhanced voice.
In their prime Boney M. were successful more or less all across Europe, but apparently never really got noticed in the US.
I have one of those CDâs and I know one of those songs is on it, I specifically bought that CD for one of those songs, Cnaât remember which. I really need to alphabetize my collection.
Well I am going to ruin it with most controversial guilty pleasure so far - I sometimes donât mind some techno music! I still think that TiĂŤsto did an amazing job remixing Addagio for strings:
And on another hand some pop tunes are fine too, especially the most masculine one!
Because of Terry Crews whenever I hear this song I sing it and have a big grin on my face
Techno isnât my bag either⌠there was one that used to get a lot of airplay back in the 90s that had me rocking out⌠I would know it if I heard it but not sure I ever knew the nameâŚ
What about rap? Right Round by Flo Rider??? That one get my heart pumping!!!

Haha milli vanilli. I havenât thought of them in years. Blame it on the rain cause itâs not my voice thatâs singing Music . Ich habe nicht gewusst there was a similar story in Germany.
Rap music, Iâd have to say Dr Dre , Tupac, and Snoop dog gets me going. Maybe Warren G âregulateâ or Drake. Recently I saw a guy do a whole song on ukulele that I never expected. It was gangsters paradise by Coolio. It was the most amazing thing and I should have recorded it. If I see him again Iâm going to ask for an encore .
So, tell me, anyone here love Wonderwall? I donât have really any experience with it. Had to listen to it on the App to know what the heck the problem with it is. Seems a lot of people have a love/hate relationship with it. I hear there are memes even! I must run with the wrong crowd, I seem to be missing important social media stuff!
ETA: Iâve added it to my practice session as it has all these new chords I need to learn. First try will be any time now.
I used to like the song a lot when it came out. I bought the album and was so excited to listen to it - there were so many other good songs as well. Back then also my sisterâs boyfriend and his brother played it live in our living room with acoustic guitar and percussion. So yes, I used to like it.
Meanwhile I have heard the song way too often to really appreciate it anymore
Funny that this post popped up Rebecca⌠I was just reading through your Learning Log for the 1st time & had reached the end where youâre mentioning Wonderwall!
Wonderwall - for many years while running into seemingly unsurmountable obstacles while trying (unsuccessfully) to learn guitar, Wonderwall kept coming up & though I never liked it much before, attempting to play it & having it trip me up put it solidly in my âhate itâ columnâŚ
sort of felt that way about Wish You Were Here too, loved the song until I couldnât play it. Then, it would come on the radio & poof! change of channel!
Now, with Justinâs help, Iâm slowly learning WYWH, but Wonderwall is off the table for me⌠I have disliked that song for WAY TOO LONG!!!
Tod
PS All that being said, donât take this post as a discouragement in any way, just my honest answer about the song.
PPS I did really enjoy your learning log too⌠I wish I had the discipline to document my progress (or lack of) as well as you do! Kudos to you for all the progress youâve made since the end of January!!!

Interestingly NG changed the way he plays it as he said that Ryan Adams was the only person to actually get the song right. Though I prefer Ryanâs bluesy version rather than his album version. I think itâs the latter version that NG based his touching version on. This might make you appreciate the song again.
Ryan Adams? You mean the Americana sounding Ryan Adams? I used to be a big fan of his in the early 2000s. Didnât know he did a cover⌠I will check it. Thank you
He actually does quite a few covers of Oasis songs as he was a support act for NG. I quite like his cover version of Taylor Swifts blank spaces too.
I have to check Ryan Adams songs again⌠I listened to all three versions a now - and while NGâs version was really good. It was Ryan Adamâs live cover I had to go back to and listen to a second time
I like the unexpected phrasing of that part when he singing the chorus the beatboxing. Fascinating how the song is living and developing a life of its own, right there and then on that stage.
So, I will have to correct myself: I very much like Ryan Adamsâs live cover version of Wonderwall. Thank you, James
I grew up on Punk, Ska, Emo, and various Metal sub-genres⌠so it might sound strange when I sayâŚ
but I freaking love disco & funk music. Anything with jangly strat tones and a dance groove. Itâs so much fun to walk around the house dancing and playing funk riffs.
A big â70s RIGHT ON!!! Tyler!
Wonât you take me 2 âFunkytownâ?!?!?!
Disco & Funk are funâŚ
âWord Upâ, gotta get that âSuperfreakâ to âPick Up the Piecesâ, get over the âSuperstitionâ, âGet Down on Itâ & move into a âBrick Houseâ!!!
After all, when youâre a âShining Starâ, you âDonât Stop Till You Get Enoughâ of that âJungle Boogieâ!!!
I think that when youâre âRock Steadyâ & Chaka Kahn âTells You Something Goodâ (âSheâs a Bad Mama Jamaâ), ya just wanna âPlay that Funky Musicâ (the âTheme From Shaftâ is good) & think - wow man, âPapaâs Got a Brand New Bagâ!!!
Now, just wish I could remember some of my favorites from those long hair & sideburn daysâŚ.
