Absolutely true. And mastering your nerves is infinitely harder than mastering your guitar or vocal in my very humble opinion.

Whatever level anyone is at, book in and give it a go, it will be your first step to mastering the hardest part of performing for most :guitar::musical_notes::+1:

@jkahn I’m considering a performer slot, but I first need to setup my new computer with my amp sim and backing track for zoom this week. I had troubles with my older laptop for zoom and OBS, but hopefully, it will work with this new gaming PC. I will keep you updated.

Update: almost done, I might have good news tomorrow :slightly_smiling_face:

You really don’t need OBS.
It is an added complication that can and does work but takes a lot of twiddling and testing.

From day 1, I went fully digital using amp plugins in Reaper (Neural DSP Morgan plugin)—so I don’t have a physical amp in the room to mic for the open mic. That digital setup obviously comes with its share of technical challenges, but I kind of enjoy that part, being an IT guy.

To get Reaper working with Zoom, the easiest guide I found was this one. Is there a new way that I did not find ? Thanks @TheMadman_tobyjenner, the guide was definitely better than most of what I found on YouTube.

All this tech definitely adds a layer of risk on performance day—either it works or it doesn’t. Hopefully it does, though… :upside_down_face: I’ll have tested everything thoroughly beforehand. But you know how tech can be… it sometimes acts weird. I still remember when Justin’s Google Drive decided to hog all the bandwidth and steal the show during the livestream—even though he had already closed it! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hi there … A world wide open mic across different time zones ! This is something unique that can’t be missed either on the performer side or on the audience side :slight_smile:

I probably tick the boxes : first time ever JG Open mic, active in the community but rather recently and more on the BLIM3 community area, where I posted some videos).

So, let me know : if not as a performer, than in the audience :slight_smile:
