Im really wishing for some rain
Take care of you and your wife !
How are you doing by the way ?
day 658 : Summer bedroom session
Module 18
Watched the videos : Perfectly Starts Slowly and Legato Pentatonics
I started working on Grade 3 again , at least watching the videos
The starts slowly videos was very interesting
I had not watch it yet but I followed all the advices without knowing it on Wonderful tonight
I did break the songs in several parts
I learned one part and when I felt I was ready I started to learn another part etc
By following this method I slowed down my practice a lot but its really worth it !
The legato pentatonic exercise will make a great warm up ![]()
Doing ok. My wife’s recovery is complicated due the brain damage caused by the virus, so much frustration but still doing a lot more than was expected. Could be long term, permenant or may normalise over time, no one knows. So guitar takes a back stage now. Some times I’ll go sans-playing for a few days, while other things take priority. For now it is what it is, so I just go with the flow. ![]()

I know all too well how frustrating brain damages can be !
the only thing you can do si being patient ( which I am not XD )
I really do hope it wont be permanent for your wife
and how about your trigger finger ?
Fingers were back to normal after the December cortisone jabs and I eased back into playing in the new year but its been hit and miss for a couple of months practice wise.
But both of the fingers are a bit suspect again after some heavy outdoor, so I am being cautious again. ![]()

Guitar lesson with my teacher today
We first worked on On the beach and found the parts I can still improve
Now that the Summer thread is launched I can take my time to work on the song
We worked on some Blues studiy after
I neglected the rythm side of BLIM so I will focus a bit on it now by working on the different grips to create a 12 barre Blues
first step : Barre chords and shifting between A D E
We started working on a Christmas song for the next community AVOYP
its only 5 months away ( and I m a slow learner )
If 5 months is not enough Ill play WHAM again ![]()

can t you do another cortisone shot if need be ?
How are the piano studies coming along ?
Yeah I can call the consultants secretary if needs be. But I am hoping it won’t come to that. The joints are just very stiff first thing but are not locking yet. If that happens I’ll be on the phone. Mid you I shift a few hundred kilo of branches from end of the plot to the other this morning.
Keys are on hold at the moment while I fathom where practice fits into the day now but did make a good start. Able to play some simple rhythm chord progression, arpeggios and some simple melodic expressions but it will more dedicated practice to raise my game. Time will tell !

why ?
is the sight better at the other end ? ![]()
It must be hard to find time for the keyboard if you already struggling to find time to play your guitar ![]()
I had hoped you d be able to participate in the summer camp but it looks like it wont be possible ![]()
No guitar yesterday because I couldnt resist spending the day working on my new Jigsaw / puzzle ![]()
The wood needed to be added to my logging area and cut later in the year. I’d was taking out some trees that were over hanging the main road last summer, with my daughter. But then my wife had the ICU visit and the wood was abandoned where it lay.
Actually managed a couple of hours today but no where near having anything I want to record at the moment. But the sessions do include some song studies but none are oven ready yet and I am finding singing and playing triad inversions is a whole new challenge, until it becomes second nature.
Hoping for more time over the weekend, as we head to 40c but as you have said hard to play in the heat !!
BTW
Well as its the end of August who knows I may get round to knocking something out!
If not you could always hit the next christmas theme with Back to December boss

I really hope you will participate ^^
Finding a Summer song that floats my boat is the issue.
2 hours in the courtyard with one of the acoustics this morning (32c at midday !), waiting for a delivery. So yeah I certainly still play but there are days when my wife’s requirements take precedent. To quote a once famous TV Dog Trainer “Happy Wife Happy Life”. Compromise is the name of the game, especially after what happened last year.
