Good call Jason. Yep definitely a step up. My anxiety was 100 times higher than OM1 but I think that is down to us knowingly playing in front of Justin despite what he said. We all wanted to raise the game to show his method works. That was my thinking for sure. 8)

Glad its over so I can move onto the Gulden Draak as a celebration. Lieven should understand !

Honestly it’s impressive to see and hear so many players with varied skills playing live in front of an audience and absolutely killing it. I can’t remember any mistakes cause everyone did so well. Congrats!

That was lots of fun to be part of, nerves and all, and definitely more nerves than for the Open Mic! I’m very happy to be part of such a great group, performers and audience alike, everybody. I went to a Zoom Pampered Chef event last night to support my sister and we had to ‘share’ something good that’s happened in the last while during Covid, so of course I shared what a great time I was having hanging out with my guitar buddies for online playing And speaking of Zoom, I did prefer being able to see everyone else, including the audience, so Zoom over Streamyard/YouTube. As a livestream platform though I thought it worked okay.

Hey guys what a night! Really grateful, proud, and humbled to have been performing alongside so many talented people. Also thanks so much to everyone who tuned in, especially our friends from down under! Your support means the world to us!

Anyway congratulations to everyone! You were all so amazing!

Special thanks to Justin and the best mods in the world for taking the time to organize everything, and of course Jason for starting it all - this wouldn’t be happening right now if it wasn’t for you! I think giving people an opportunity to try performing infront of others in a safe and friendly environment without leaving the comfort of our homes is insanely cool and I’m really thankful for having being able to take part from the very beginning. Can’t wait to see where all this goes.

The morning after (for me) and oh what a night. Thanks again to Justin for this opportunity. Every opportunity to do something new is a blessing and helps make learning to play and perform through JustinGuitar and the Forum a hard to match option (maybe there are other similar options, but not that I know of, or care to discover).

Nerves, I felt more relaxed this time round compared to the Forum OM on Zoom. Being blessed to have had a couple of sessions with Justin, I’ve overcome any additional awe-factor that may induce extra anxiety. Also the stream not being live to the world meant I felt comfortable, performing in front of my most supportive and understanding fellow Forum Friends.

Thanks again to all those Forum Friends who give up time to watch and participate in this event. It makes the experience so much richer to have an audience to try and connect with, to try and deliver an entertaining performance that is as enjoyable as possible, and the immediate encouraging feedback and comments are so appreciated.

And have to say again, I repeat myself so much, when I started the BC I never imagined being able to join such an event, to play and sing live. I have a long way to go before I’d consider myself in anyway an accomplished performer, able to present myself to say a coffee shop owner and be the afternoon’s entertainment, be it for free drinks or hard cash. But every step is a step forwards and I don’t stress about if and when I might rich that level, or whether or not I might ever look to be such an entertainer.

And on to the entertainment, three cheers to all who performed last night. What a night it was thinking back this morning:

Jason, rocking out with the Trio+ a one man power trio

Mari, a great song with wonderfully executed embellishments and solo runs

Keith, a beautiful song that expressed the emotional power of a solo acoustic guitar and the video production

Clint, jamming … jamming till the jam is through You are da improv man

Toby, rocking the resurrected Cherry, such sweet tones

Adrian, singing and picking, switching to strumming, smooth and sweet

Ivan, from strummer, to finger-picker, to percussive finger-style, showing the versatility of the acoustic

Brian, the showman, the dramatic performer, simply incomprable

And it is a testament to the quality of the performers, that I can remember and run through each one again without going back to check the running order. You were all fabulous.

Another moment to cherish, to help build confidence ahead of the next moment, the next Forum OM happening May 15th Rock on 8)

David. What a great summary and so much you say echo’s my thoughts this morning, so I won’t duplicate. But it was a great night and the trial can only be seen as a success. I hope Justin forgets he said we should do this every week !! Everyone put on a great performance and I think given the discussions this last week, everyone went the extra mile to make sure it was a success.

I am sure when we have run our own post mortems, there will be things we will want to improve for the next show and that’s only to be expected, as we see our own fumbles more than others.

But like you, after longs years in the wilderness before finding JustinGuitar and then those first tentative steps on that long BC ladder, I too would never have thought these last two shows would have been reachable. Heck I didn’t even think that back in November and if it was not for the support and encouragement from the forum, I’d still not be singing AND playing.

Just watched the video of the show on YT - it was a bit early for me to watch live (4 am) - but those watching from Australia put me to shame. Great performances all round - a really enjoyable show to watch - great opening number, huge variety of musical genres was really entertaining, and of course a fitting finale. Well done everyone. Hope there are many more of these to watch in the future.
