I beg to differ Porvoo is a city with a bit more than 51000 inhabitants. The oldtown is iconic though, that’s why I went for a range of pictures with oldtown scenery
Thank you so much
What? I don’t own any… and there is not instrument store in Porvoo (and if there were any, it would have likely been closed on a Sunday). And just imagine, I would have needed to carry that one around with me as well
My guitar stand comment was directed at @BHopson. Your guitar has great balance and does not appear to need one
Hi Nicole. I love the pics. You live in a beautiful town. I would love to visit someday. I’m jealous your guitar got the tour instead lol.
If you come to Porvoo, you will get at least as nice a sightseeing your as the guitar But be warned: There are rather ugly corners here as well and I will include them in that sightseeing tour with pleasure
This was from last month. I was in a 5km race to support autism research. The scenery is Balboa Park in SanDiego.
Years ago in Germany I used to do the Volksverwanderung in many places across the country. This reminds me of that.
I knew I forgot something…
Have been to Porvoo as part of a Baltic cruise that me and my other half did a few years back. Seem to recall that they had an Elvis Presley Boulevard!!
Small world Next to @Silvia80 you already are the second person in this community, who has been here.
Elvis Presley Blvd. … What? Never heard, never seen. This can’t be real, I thought, and started googling. … And you are right, at least there is a tourism blog displaying picture of such sign in Porvoo old town somewhere Does not look like an official street sign though, I guess that someone must have been a fan and decorated their house.
Oh, sorry, I don’t know why, but I actually thought Porvoo were a small village .
My ‘hometown’ only counts about 1,700 inhabitants .
Not quite where I live, but not far away.
I took my wife for a weekend away to Bintan Island, which is a short ferry ride away.
Cheers,
Keith
Very much water and an especially small island? Or simply an artistic camera perspective? Looks nice of course.
The tide was out, and we were standing on a small sand bank about 30 metres from shore.
For context, the full 360 photo is here (you’ll need to click into it to view and scroll around):

Wow. That does look very beautiful🙂
Which lounge is that? Looks impressive. I’m travelling to the UK via Singapore both ways.
It’s the Aerotel lounge at Changi Terminal 1.
Cheers,
Keith
That’s impressive! I wish I’d known about that when I was over that way in 1995. I assume it was built before 1995?
