no apology needed a moderator’s job is to moderate/monitor, and that’s what you did.

You did nothing wrong, other than possibly forget how easy it is for people to take things the wrong way and/or overreact, especially on the internet.

Your intentions were pure. You heart was in the right place. Your points were valid.

Please continue to do the fine job you do, helping us all succeed on our guitar journey.

YOU ROCK, Richard!! :sign_of_the_horns: :sign_of_the_horns: :sign_of_the_horns:

Richard, not sure what prompted your post but we value your contributions to the site and our musical growth than you realize. Don’t let now bad egg spoil what you are doing.

same here.
We all have better days and less good ones.
We all know that you’re always working for the sake of all of us and point of views aren’t always the same over time and certainly not objective anyway. (while I think you’re doing always an awesome job at striving to be )

PS. And if I had been going on talking I would only have used superlatives regarding how much I value your moderatorship…

Richard, I certainly don’t think you need to apologise. Without moderators who take considered and sometimes difficult decisions on a Forum it can very quickly turn into a free for all that degenerates. Into messy and offensive comments and opinions.

I personally value your contributions and support to me and the forum as whole greatly, please do not fret over this, we are all human here, although some have called me other things😂, and we each see things differently sometimes.

Keep up your amazing contributions and commitment😃

Mate, you need to take more holidays!

Incredible dedication - big thanks from the whole community and me!

You do your best, which is more than anyone can ask for, and I can’t imagine what you did to think you needed to apologize… but I’m sure it wasn’t needed!

Well said, everyone, and as a guy who lives close by Richard and indeed does chat to him on occasions, I personally think he does a brilliant job, no apologies needed, he does the job a lot of people wouldn’t or couldn’t carry out, take a break as Justin suggest but my god please come back, well respected man in my oppinion cheers HEC

I just want to say that it takes courage to aknowledge having made a mistake
most people wouldnt do it

its not up to me to say of you did one or not
but the fact that you felt like you did something wrong and said it openly is amazing in itself !

Hi Richard,

as we are all human beings, we cannot handle things perfectly all the time. Especially given the fact, that what seems perfectly fine for one person won’t work for another. It is part of human nature, too, to have different points of view, and that in itself is beautiful. But it’s important that we handle these different opinions carefully and with respect, open minds and understanding for each other. And for me, you are a role model in this regard. In my time here, your activity as moderator, but also as a member of the community, shows nothing but respect, helpfulness, support and trying to be a voice of reason when needed.

While I was reading this thread in the morning, I wanted to come back and write exactly what Deborah wrote right above me: It takes courage to step up and admit having done something wrong and apologize for it. That’s a rare trait among humans and deserves nothing but respect. To me, there was no need for an apology, but I get that some may think differently and that’s fine.

All in all, we are really lucky to have you among us and I’m very grateful for that.

Anyone know a good moderator?

Please change the title of this thread to “We all love @Richard_close2u”

I admit I’m not as active here as I’d like - but I did drop in last week, saw a bit of a storm, and I saw a comment from Richard that made me raise an eyebrow… I thought it was a little abrupt.
So I, for one, really appreciate your apology.
As a ‘stranger’ I have to admit that my ‘what do I think of Richard’ needle moved a little in the wrong direction when I saw the interaction - but your apology and explanation moved it back to where it was, and then even a bit further into the ‘what a good guy’ zone.
