Hi Trond,
This sometimes sounds super nice…and I agree with you that this belongs in an LL (a place where, in my not so modest opinion, many more things should be put into it instead of just continuing to open topics so often by so many members )…
I’m jealous of your voice and if you have taken the Lick`n Riffs lessons and have mastered them then it won’t be long before this song will shine in AVOYP or otherwise similar blues …you to the
Greetings
Hi Rogier! Oh… i am very much guilty of that, there is more than one of my AVOYPs that could have been put in my LL
Workin on the blues lesson now, its a slow progress.
But it is fun. And that is all this is about
And probably me too…no direct example from you on AVOYP in my head, but I actually mean in a general sense too…topics that are more diary-like…or a recurring thing like ???..yes there you are definitely “guilty” of that
I know it has been discussed before and not much will change if a few people do something about it every now and then, so I will have to accept it, but I notice that I am starting to lose interest in many sections… .but actually that’s a good thing because I’m going to make more time…EVEN MORE??? …for playing the guitar now
but if you have just started with the blues lessons, you are already doing very well and you will learn it faster … much faster than me … I have been playing a little less over the last 5 months (due to a small accident in early September) but expect at least 2 hours per day from now on …in the morning and then again for an hour in the afternoon
Of course I have to practice a lot, because I’m quite slow… and hopefully in a year (?) we can share my T-shirt together?..
This happened to be downstairs today…the only problem is when I put it on they both get a huge big head …because I bought this when I was 16 or 17 years old…and there is… .cough…cough…something changed in the abdominal area
Hahahaha!!! Funny you saying that, seems like i have the same problem with my old t-shirts aswell
Awsome T shirt by the way gotta love Elwood and Jake Blues!!
Hope you getting back on youre horse 100% Rogier, so you can get back into youre routines again. Speaking of slow… i struggle with that too cant belive how hard it is too play those scales fast and make them ring out clearly, right now im not sure if i can ever get there.
Can relate to that, the forum has become so big now so i struggle to keep up… but that is a good thing and not really a problem. But i do miss out on a lot threads…
Get away from that thought…it comes, it comes …I needed 3 days to be able to play the riff from Sweet Home Chicago…3 times a day for a few minutes (rather 8 than 5 each time) and after the The first day I thought “this isn’t going to last 2 weeks if I do it every day???”
and sometimes a grade 5 song can be played in its entirety in just a few days…
I think it’s great that almost everything works out if you just keep going…sometimes I leave something for days or weeks and sometimes months because something that seems simple doesn’t work out and then suddenly …Walzing Matilda has almost become my waterloo, that freaking grrrr o hate brrrr $#@%%$ …but again this morning once started after a long long long time …that one thing I could not play in time went well for one time …so no I know I`m close to finish if I Don’t come across too many new things
Bye bye i got a play
Here is that nice simple very short piece that I thought I would play in 1 minute
Thanks for getting this thread back on track David Too much stream-of-consciousness/complaining about folk like me clogging up the Community with ‘unfinished symphonies’ and irrelevant topics…
Trond, min ven, I am no great lover of the blues, but I admit the genre suits you well.
That ‘authenticity’ I spoke about in your singing is already showing in your guitar playing. Sure, there are lots of hesitations with bends/vibrato requiring attention, but I do get the feeling you ‘mean it’ when you play
A little more work on this and you’ll be into bought by appreciative punters at your local juke joint
Ooooohhh!! That little riff is awsome!!! Exactly the kind of stuff i would love to have in my backpocket… so simple… but yet so insane cool!
Would love to see you play some of those things on youre Fender Rogier!
Liking the sound of that Trond and hoping its a sign of things to come. Blues on acoustic can be hard work and especially bends but you were giving it a good go. Slides and hammer ons are a useful alternative if you are looking for full tone bends but those curls and semitones bends can work well. Looking forward to more.
Interesting question… What goes into the AVOYP section and why …
Glad that you put this into your LL ( sounded good already, missing the knowledge of course to see what you could have done better) because that means there will one or two updates at least?
Hope that winter storm stayed away from the place where you are living btw
Good logic While probably nothing is ever 100 % finished, since there is always something that can be improved with time, there are surely songs that simply fall into the category “done …next!” Doesn’t mean that it’s objectively good, but just a snapshot illustrating what the poster considers worth sharing because it’s played as well as possible at a specific moment in time.
(Sorry for using your LL as discussion platform, Trond )
LL …also used by some as a diary/chatbox and what I also meant is that many more topics about things that have nothing to do with an AVOYP could also be included more often in an LL and etc etc …and believe me Trond nothing tosay about this uh …he likes this chating
Yep @JokuMuu as Brian said… it is just a thing i am working on, and it is very raw at the moment… plan is to develop it as i go along
I have a different take than @brianlarsen though… most songs i put out on to the forum is put into my «songbook» and is stuff that i practise and try to make better.
Nice Blues Trond. I love playing rhythm & riff stuff, it’s so fun. Blues looks good on you. I still think your sweet spot is melancholy acoustic stuff, though .
On the AVOYP vs LL stuff. IMHO it doesn’t matter. AVOYP doesn’t have to be polished.
A bluesy Trond… suited you very well mate… you have that special way of telling the story to the listeners.
Exactly. If its a work in progress recording that you really want feedback and advice the best place to post it is in the AVoYP section otherwise the LL is the place to post it.
