David, I am also getting blocked from playing the lessons in the Grade 3 modules even after I am logged in. It usually lets me in after several tries but I don’t know the cause.
@sticktothemuse I suggest you send an email to the support team, Roch (https://www.justinguitar.com/contact)
Roch, out of curiosity, do I understand you correctly that you have issues playing the videos? Are only the Grade 3 videos affected, or does this issue apply to all videos on the Justing Guitar website? How do you access the lessons? Via the Justin Guitar app or via a browser? If via a browser, which one do you use; and does it happen also if you use a different one, e.g. google chrome or firefox? Also, which hardware platform and OS do you use (Windows vs Linux vs Apple vs Android)?
Hi Franz, thanks for your inquiry, much appreciated. You are right it’s probably a problem with my browser. I am using an older computer that uses Bing (not google). I’m just noticing this problem recently. It seems to fix itself after a few tries, sometimes I just leave it for a while and go back and the video works. I’m getting all the text. When I click on the video lesson it is asking me to log in, which I usally am logged in. Probably if I just switch to google it would fix the problem but I’m not sure how this would affect the other apps I have going.
Thanks, I will
@sticktothemuse Roch, I noticed that youtube has developed the very annoying habit of asking to log in, even though I already am, just as you describe. This happens on all websites, not just Justin’s, so it’s likely a thing on youtube’s side rather than on Justin’s side. What seems to work when this happens, is reloading the page to get rid of the message and get back to the starting point, then clicking on ‘watch on youtube’ (bottom left corner of the video) instead of on the video itself. This then takes you to the lesson on youtube itself. Annoying but it seems to work (no guarantees though).
@sticktothemuse Roch, you are probably using the “Microsoft Edge” browser, not bing. Bing is just a search engine. Nevermind.
This issue may be caused by different reasons, or even a combination of issues.
First, you could try clearing the browser cache and cookies. This could resolve conflicts with how the embedded videos are being loaded.
Second, it also could be an issue if your Edge browser blocks third-party cookies. Try to allow third-party cookies to see if it helps.
And third, since you are using an older computer with Edge, the browser version may not fully support some newer web standards. You could try updating Edge to the latest version compatible with your operating system. Even better, consider install a different browser, like Google Chrome or Firefox.
I really would recommend to install Firefox and to use only this browser to access the Justin Guitar website. This will not have any side effects on other apps you are using on your computer.
Franz, I’ll work through some of your recomendations. Probably need to switch from Edge, I don’t really like the way it works and the Bing search engine is crap. I tried to access a video and it asked me to sign in and found out it was asking me to sign into google. Since I didn’t know my passowrd (:)) I went through that whole process, hopefully this will fix the problem. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
I am on Safari, fully up to date, and have the same problem. So changing browsers might not do the trick. But I sure hope it works for you!
No problem, happy to help.
@LadyOfTheCastle Els, if you want to try the same recommendations, please feel free to ask questions along the way.
@franzek, I have a workaround that works, without having to allow (more) cookies etc. So for now, I’m fine. But thanks for the offer!
Btw, if you do a google search on this, you will see that there are a lot of complaints about this issue since the end of September. It’s a more or less generalised problem, obviously due to some change by Youtube.
Thanks! Good to know, that’s about the time I started having problems.
