What are you currently listening to? 2023

Currently listening to Mark R. Healy’s “The Strata (Original Soundtrack)”. Been a long time since I’ve listened to his Hibernal stuff, I should really give it a listen to again…

Dangerous Curves!!! Got my CDs on shuffle

“In Those Eyes”

“Good And The Bad”

eta: This one came on next and I just had to add it, it’s probably my favourite of theirs :heart_eyes_cat:

The neighbor is away for a week and two things happen when they go away. The cover comes off of the Bassbreaker, and the Ministry playlist gets loaded up. Both are on 11.

Can you believe that it’s been 32 years?
How did I get so old so quickly?

Noooo… What

Love that track! :metal:

Edit: this song takes me straight back to 14yrs old (1993). A mate dubbed to cassette a compilation album called The Trip which had that track on it. He even wrote out all the tracks and illustrated the cover, which was so rad! Anyway, it introduced me to a heap of bands, which I still love till today, here’s the track list…
1 Soundgarden–Outshined
2 Helmet–Give It
3 Rage Against The Machine–Killing In The Name
4 Temple Of The Dog–Hunger Strike
5 Porno For Pyros–Cursed Female/Cursed Male
6 Sonic Youth–100%
7 L7–Everglade
8 Red Hot Chili Peppers–Sikamikanico
9 Mudhoney–Suck You Dry
10 Dinosaur Jr.–Get Me
11 Nymphs–Just One Happy Day
12 Babes In Toyland–Bruise Violet
13 Stone Temple Pilots–Sextype Thing
14 The Smashing Pumpkins– Rhinoceros
15 Butthole Surfers–Who Was In My Room Last Night?
16 Ministry–Jesus Built My Hotrod (Remix)
17 Rollins Band–Low Self Opinion (Live)

Hey, if you are manage to scroll to my comment, here is the one I am listening to!

A song about dream. Absolute masterpiece =)

In the interest of listening to everything I can, I’ll see your Hans Zimmer and raise you one Lavinia Meijer. If you can, don’t spare the volume on these.

If that is too long or doesn’t hook you try it with a little Iggy Pop spoken word. https://youtu.be/-P2ktNHPccw

EDIT: OK, I just noticed that the Iggy Pop piece is the final track in the above video, I’ll leave a link to the shorter video but here is something more in line with what one thinks of when they hear the word harp.

Eclectic doesn’t begin to describe my taste in music. Exhibit “Pokey.”

Just a link for this one, it’s got some NSFW words in it. Stuff your mother warned you about.

We’ve been talking Stones in a Topic about a Community Collaboration from a couple of years back. Inspired me to find this … a live performance of Monkey Man in 2003 from one of my favourite (perhaps favourite) Stones albums, Let It Bleed.

At the same time have been talking Deep Purple and how useful the Smoke on ther Water riff tip from @Richard_close2u is to help one to improve bending.

Post that started listening to Purple’s most recent album, Turning to Crime, an album of covers including Oh Well

Original by the original Fleetwood Mac, featuring Peter Green (with just enough cowbell)

Then YT served me the following, I’m off then …

Sad news today of the death of Pulp bassist, Steve Mackey
The William Shatner cover of Common People (artwork by Jamie Hewett) is by far the most popular of all my YouTube videos to date
RIP Steve

I’m dreaming of one day being able to play this. I better start by learning at least some slide basics …
