I believe the original song was written about the Mississippi floods in 1927. So bad were the floods that many songs were written but this is the one that is most well known due to it been popularized by Led Zeppelin.

@Socio James dropped this into the #BBP chat a day or so back, ain’t a clue what day it is at the mo. I am unfamiliar with Adele’s music but aware of her existence as an artist, guess coz I don’t do pop or MOTR. But loved JJs playing on this one for sure.

In between hospital visits, daughter and I have discovered some great new artist, which have been added to my Spotify like list. I need to cross reference some of these magic tracks on YT and share them here. But another long day and I am claquƩ !!

Love Buddy!

I’ve seen him in concert a couple of times, but the best was at the iconic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, TX. Standing room only, 5 ft from the stage, polka dot guitar, and backing horn section. I will never forget that night. The electricity was life-threatening!

Being originally from Chicago, I was a frequent customer of Buddy’s ā€œLegendsā€ club. I once was there when he just decided at the spur of the moment to get on stage with Big Daddy Kinsey and the Kinsey Report and play a few songs. I’ve also seen him do live concerts elsewhere a couple of times. Buddy is a major influence on many rock guitarists.

One of my favourite youtube channels. Group of 10 or 12 musicians make regular appearances, all of them super talented. They mostly play cover songs from my era the 70’s and 80’s.

Fingerstyle guy here… on hard but great journey. Listening to any song from Eddie Van Der Meer makes me feel tears in my eyes, even when I am at work listening to this at background whole writing down some Excel…
When I was starting with guitar he was one of first even before I picked it up and I was amazed by the technique and playing… it was the time when Paul Davids bumped to me too.

Please enjoy the songs… the feels, that life is beautiful and worth it. This music really works for me.

@markr31 Interesting what the most popular video is on that youtu.be channel :rofl:

@markr31 Have you listened to the recordings of his house of blues radio hour?

No. I’ll have to look for it.

I shared this previously in the BLIM C1 community but nobody took the bait. It’s actually a good listen. I thought the first song was really good and new to me but felt familiar hearing Dan introduce it. The library of Congress took all the episodes in house, so will be interested in listening to them when they make it available to stream.

@stitch you should enjoy this

Thanks for posting James. Enjoyed that.
Had to laugh at George Carlin’s comments on speeding up baseball, I’m watching the Bluejays play the Yankees as I’m listening the this.
Doesn’t get any better than watching the Bluejays beating the Yankees while listen to the blues.
