Every so often I come back to listening singer-songwriter songs.

Nice. I wonder if they turned up the audio speed? His singing/speaking is crazy fast and also sounds a bit like you just increased tape/record speed?

Learnt about this young guitarist via a local news feed (he’s playing nearby next month). I like this song from his upcoming debut album.

Mostly the same stuff I listened to in the 70s, I’m going backwards not forward into the early blues guys. Modern music … Yehgh …

I dont know. Interesting.

Gnarles Barkley is made up of 2 guys. DJ Danger Mouse is does the beats and spins the records and CeeLo Green is on vocals. His voice is pretty unique and high pitched. CeeLo always sounds sort of like that.

You may have heard the song Crazy, same duo and same sound just not high tempo.

sounds great!
Didn’t think I knew it, but definitely heard the chorus before.

Haha, that’s an old one which I still like  from an awesome band…

Yes, very nice! What a great guitar sound (besides the nice singing)!
And I’m envious of her long fingers! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I just had a great time because I was working at a place where a great welsh busker was playing and singing for quite some time. He mostly plays his own songs. Love this guy and he plays his acoustic similarly to the lady above, but has quite a variety of techniques, as Irma certainly too! I think I only know two people from Wales and they are both great musicians, are you all born with a lot of talent?

Yes, love it too! After I had gotten the first Police album I HAD to buy them all

Haha :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. Welsh people are indeed very musical, and artistic in general, but I can’t take any credit for it because I’m not Welsh ; at least not by birth.

Incredible live performance. 8th notes at 212bps (4/4) under heavy rain and they didn’t miss a beat. :exploding_head: All down picks!

Yeah they have gotta have been on something back then when this first hit. Good to see them cranking out their classics ! But heck all the good bands liked to experiment. Just joshing as MOP is a Metallica master piece. Pharma Rock is rooted in the 60s and still keeps us enthralled. Oh to play at those speeds . . . no chance in my twilight years. :sign_of_the_horns:

Your post threw me back to my go to song from these guys . . . . . and posted here many times over the years. A mix of classical and metal, so worth a listen for those who avoid the dark stuff !

Can’t get enough :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

One of their best songs! Definitely top 5.

Very few people can, it is just too fast. I practiced a lot and I am nowhere near.

I’ll join the party with another raining Master of Puppets:

Since this came out I cannot listen to the studio version without singing the ā€œMaster, Manchesterā€ part (at around 2:00)!

Will add just one of their songs from the latest album (already 3 years old!). They really are a great live band. One of the last stadium bands that do it the ā€œold schoolā€ way (pyro guy doing pyro manually, techs doing sound changes manually in the backstage, etc.).

EDIT:

Don’t forget, James, Lars and Kirk were all in their 60s at the time of this Munich concert and Rob turned 60 only few months later which makes it even more impressive with all the rain and everything!
