Haven’t been on this thread for a while…trying to catch up…
Justin told us to listen to as many Blues as we can and I’ve found this German band. I like their video productions and tone.
Another one, apart from the Blues, I came across is The French Family Band. Mother is from New Zealand, father from Tasmania (obviously a good place to grew up as a musician ). Heard this beautiful cover of the old Kenny Loggins tune “Danny’s Song” and was blown away by Camille’s voice, that reminds me a lot of Karen Carpenters’ in it’s exeptional clarity.
I haven’t listened much here lately, but just clicked on the last of your series Andrea … Wonderful, I saved her (that is written strangely 'I saved her )
Greetings…
Oh wow, YT is a real treasure chest sometimes . Enjoy watching the concert, Toby . (And the beer .)
I’ll save the link so that I can rewatch it as soon as I’ve a ‘calm evening’ .
Thanks a lot for posting it .
Ha !! I’m 67 and watching this is making feel much older. Respect, man’s on fire. He should write a song about that Kind of lost touch after Devil and Dust. Have some catching up to do.
The YouTube algorithms are serving me well. After 3 hrs of the Boss yesterday evening, it served up this 2013 Crowes concert. Perfect time slot, while I wait for the family to dock on the ferry and the head south to Normandy.
Apologies for the TCR box thing, its a right pita !!
Its a 1hr45 drive from the port, so this one from '92 will fill the anxious time until they get “home”
I’ve been on a Santana kick recently, trying to play along to some of his songs and research these “token” Latin rhythms and melodies. I think these (the riffs, at least) will be the next ones to transcribe:
Some time ago when fumbling around I managed to play the first 8 notes of that song, without planning to do so bit I didn’t go further than that.
I’ll check out Adi’s version later on. It’s a good song, but somehow the keyboard backing makes it a bit syrupy for my taste. But at least it’s not as cloying as Samba Pa Ti. (Yeah, I prefer Santana’s more tribal and jazzy side.)
Dropped on this crew yesterday and checked out a few more of their track. Dark, dirty and Blusey.
Daughter’s ears pricked in an “I likey” fashion and we spent the next 2 hours with the monitors cranked and her throwing some great new bands my way. I’ll share when I catch up as they are parked for now. Too much going on and playing me geetar ain’t one of them right now. But as I say family first. Look after you and yours.
