Backing track places to go

Hi, Currently looking into purchasing a soundcard like Focusrite to record my electric. In the DAW i would like to load some backing tracks of popsongs i’m trying to learn. Maybe adjust the pitch and speed here and there. Question is, what is your place to go to for the best backing tracks? YouTube, some website, or do you play/record along the original tracks? Looking forward towards your tips.

Best way to find backing tracks for popular songs?

Been thinking about recording my self playing some of the songs I’ve learned but I’m no singer and some songs sound much better with other instruments. At first I thought I’d record myself playing in the song app, but the song app only has me playing chords and the app plays some of the riffs that I want to play so it ends up sounding weird. Now that I have my new Strat, I was looking for backing tracks of popular songs to import into my DAW and record over (either for YouTube recordings or possibly to play over in the next open mic). Anyway, I used to use a site called guitarbackingtrack.com that was all free but now see it doesn’t exist anymore. I am trying to locate where I can get backing tracks with just drum and bass for selected songs. Does anyone have any advice.

Backing tracks for practicing or recording

Hi. What is the best way to get backing tracks to play over? It is good to play over the original song but sometimes I don’t know if I’ve missed a note until I just listen back to my recording. Playing over metronome is good but hard to play something like Metallica where the time signature is changing or playing a Brian May solo that is based on feel mostly.
